OGSE recognition is granted by the Government of Malaysia through relevant government agencies such as MPRC, MIDA, MATRADE, SME Corp and DOSM, industry trade associations such as MOGSC, MOSVA and MOGEC, and PETRONAS for oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) companies in Malaysia.
It is awarded to OGSE companies that are active in upstream or downstream activities and are not required to be licensed or registered with PETRONAS. Companies nevertheless still need PETRONAS license to operate in Malaysia.
OGSE recognition is awarded to companies that qualify via meeting the criterias.
To be eligible to apply for the recognition of OGSE companies and the benefits, a company is required to meet the following criteria:

Being recognised by government agencies such as Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), SME Corporation and Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM)
Being listed in the OGSE Catalogue where their capabilities will be promoted in international markets or events
Being the preferred point for international and national oil companies, government agencies, financial providers, and contractors
